Brendan Gow W.A
Brendan (Brenz) Gow has been a stalwart of the W.A bream tournament scene fishing many W.A Bream Classic series events plus A.B.T. Bream events. He has also recently just started fishing the Hobie series events in W.A after recently purchasing a Hobie P.A.
Over the past few years Brendan has had numerous Top Ten finishes and in his first crack this year in the Kayak Series he finished in 6th place on the Swan River. His favourite style of Bream fishing is fishing structure like Jetties and boat hulls with Micro Vibes.
Brendan also enjoys chasing Snapper on plastics over shallow reefs.
Ben Phayer Vic
Ben has only been fishing in the ABT Bream Hobie Series for a couple of seasons now and has done very well in a short space of time. In his first season in 2014 he had many Top Ten finishes with a best finish of 2nd at the Paynesville round. He has followed up in season 2015 with a 2nd Place at Mallacoota which was a World Qualifying Round and then also finished 3rd at the Glenelg River Round.
Ben has qualified to represent Australia at the 5th World Kayak Fishing Championships in China in late 2015 and is currently ranked 6th in the ABT Hobie Kayak Rankings at the end of the 2015 season.
He also loves to target other species in particular Snapper in both Port Phillip and Westernport Bays in Victoria.
Rick Massie Vic
Rick Massie actively fishes in the ABT Hobie Kayak Series and represented Australia in the Hobie World Kayak Champoinships in 2013 where he finished in 12th Place.
He is the current record holder of the Largest Bream ever caught in a ABT Hobie Kayak event at 1.83kgs and also holds the record for the Largest Bag caught at an ABT Hobie Kayak event of 3/3 for a MASSIVE 4.68kgs also.
Ricks best result in 2015 was a 3rd Place at Paynesville in Victoria and he finished in 19th place in the 2015 AOY for the ABT Hobie Bream Series.
He was also fished in a number of the Vic Bream Classic events and had wins in that series and has also been a representative for Victoria at many Australian Fly Fishing Championships.
Pat McQuarrie NSW
Patrick McQuarrie hails from the central coast of N.S.W. In his maiden year on the ABT Hobie Kayak series he had a successful start to his tournament fishing with a number of wins including Brisbane Waters and Burill Lakes in his first season in 2013.
Patrick has had a fantastic start to 2014 with a 2nd Place at Bemm River in the biggest field to attend a ABT Hobie Kayak Event. He then followed it up with a Win at the ABT Hobie World Qualifying event at Marlo. Patrick also took out the BOSS HOG BIG BREAM at the Georges River round in Sydney.
Patrick represented Australia at the World Kayak Fishing Championship in Amsterdam, Holland where he finished in the top ten taking out 9th Place.
Patrick is currently ranked 8th in the ABT Hobie Rankings at the end of the 2015 season.
He actively fishes out of his yak for Bream but also enjoys fishing in the bluewater for Kingfish in particular.
